This multiple step construction process involved upscaling, cutting, bending and shaping the rebar into the silhouette shape mimicking the inspiration sketches and photos. Wire mesh was then applied in preparation of the stucco application. Stucco was applied is multiple steps, contoured and smoothed in preparation of the mosaic installation. A full-scale Paper Mache and fiberglass mold was then prepared of the stucco structure to facilitate the assembly of the glass mosaic. The mosaic work was prepared remotely so having a 3D model in hand became useful in assembly being able to correct for any stretching of the 3D shape rather than working on a flat surface.
